Base Saline

Base Saline

Hydration: The primary function of saline in an IV is to rehydrate the body. When you're dehydrated, your body loses fluids and electrolytes (minerals essential for bodily functions). Saline solution, which is essentially sterile saltwater, replenishes these fluids and helps restore your body's fluid balance. This can be critical for patients suffering from conditions like vomiting, diarrhea, burns, or excessive sweating.

Electrolyte balance: Saline solution primarily contains sodium chloride, but depending on the type of saline (e.g., lactated Ringer's), it may also contain other electrolytes like potassium and calcium. These electrolytes are crucial for various bodily functions like muscle contraction, nerve transmission, and maintaining proper blood pressure. When these electrolytes are depleted due to fluid loss, saline helps restore their balance and ensure their essential functions are not compromised.

There is a one-time $25 fee for new clients to establish an initial patient assessment through Telehealth. This fee is good for 1 calendar year.
